電影 vs. 電梯

某教學醫院一台承載廿一名師生的電梯，從廿一樓快速墜落到地下四樓。電梯停住後，發現兩名主治醫師小腿骨折，十九名醫學生受輕傷。

看到這則發生在醫院的新聞，除了慶幸眾人無大礙，介意只有主治醫師骨折竟與年長有關，想起電影『電子情書』裡的一個關鍵性的片段。

Joe 原有一個精明能幹的女友 Patricia，某日同搭電梯回家，居然上升中電梯故障了；熟練的電梯操作員第一時間趕快將所有樓層的按鍵都按下，Joe 問他為何這麼作，他回答可以防止電梯急速墜落到地下室。

所以生活在都市叢林中，當我們幸或不幸卡在電梯中時，沒有常識也要看過電視；以下是自由時報的報導：

• 趕快把每一層樓的按鍵都按下，讓電梯停下來。
• 將背部和頭部緊貼電梯內牆，以避免因重心不穩而摔傷，並能運用電梯牆壁作為脊椎的防護。
• 將膝蓋呈彎曲姿勢，借用膝蓋彎曲來承受重擊壓力，以減少骨折的危險。

於是 Joe 雖困在電梯裡，卻逃過可能垂直落下的劫難，坐在電梯地板上，忽然明白自己想要的是什麼。

於是人們分隔兩地看到電影最後，爲 Joe 與 Kathleen 歷經千帆找到彼此而感動。有朝一日是否春神眷憐，終能在紐約街頭 Café Lalo 共飲咖啡，已經無所求了。
